GISTware System

GISTnet runs on GISTware, a web-hosted ("Software as a Service") comprehensive solution to training management and delivery for organizations of all sizes, including employers, associations and educational institutions. In continuous use and development since 1995, GISTware has become quite sophisticated yet is easy to learn and use using any web browser. It consists of three highly integrated sub-systems:

  1. Learning Management System (LMS): GISTware is designed for administration and exception management of all types of training delivery and personnel qualification facts and events. Functionality includes:
    • Training administration: Assignment, progress tracking, assessment, record keeping and certificate issuance and even post-training effectiveness evaluation;
    • Personnel qualification management: training needs assessment and gap analysis, job profiles to specify and communicate who needs what training and other qualifications by job assignment, exception management (reporting and email notifications) concerning training status by individual, office, region, etc.;
    • SCORM and AICC: GISTware deploys and tracks on-line SCORM or AICC compliant training modules from any training provider;
    • Virtual classroom: Coming soon, a fully integrated virtual classroom (live instructor-led training via the web).
  2. Content Management System (CMS): GISTware provides sophisticated means to distribute and control access to organization information, training materials, training courses, assessments, surveys and other content via the Internet, including internal and external parties (e.g., customers, agents, sub-contractors) on a need-to-know basis. GISTware organizes content into libraries for rapid navigation and selective distribution under full control of the content owner. Unique capabilities enable large organizations to overlay (blend in) content at any level in the organizational hierarchy to create regional, national, local and/or customer-specific variations in its performance support libraries, training and assessment modules.
  3. Authoring Tools: GISTware accepts source material in a variety of formats (e.g., Word documents, various image formats, audio and video clips, Flash files) and provides all the additional authoring tools needed to create on-line:
    • Training modules: Both sophisticated lessons as well as simpler "page-turners," with content dynamically drawn from libraries to which the student has access to; changes to the library source documents flow through instantly to all modules using such content.
    • Assessments and practical exercises: Using a variety of question formats, which can be part of training modules or used standalone;
    • Courses: Consisting of a variety of types of modules including lessons, page-turners, assessments, in-person or virtual classroom sessions inclusive of demand-based scheduling, evaluated on-system and off-system exercises, and surveys. The flexible GISTware course structure facilitates the blending of any combination of training delivery into a single course assignment.
    • Surveys: GISTware includes a powerful general purpose survey system that can be used for a variety of training purposes (e.g., needs assessment, effectiveness evaluation, student satisfaction) as well as general business purposes such as employee and customer satisfaction, suggestions, etc.
In short, GISTware can dramatically increase your company's training effectiveness, and hence operational effectiveness, while significantly lowering training and training administration expense.
